Welcome to Halo, a mobile application (“App”) operated by Elevate Technology Limited, a company registered in Hong Kong ("we", "us", or "our"). Halo is a platform that connects individuals seeking psychological support (“Clients”) with independent mental health professionals (“Counselors”) who offer counseling services.
By accessing or using the Halo App, including by creating an account, browsing listings, or engaging with a Counselor, you (“you”, “user”) agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions (“Terms”). If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use the App or any of the services provided through it.
These Terms govern your use of Halo and form a legally binding agreement between you and Halo. You should read these Terms carefully before using the App. We may update these Terms from time to time, and we will notify users of any material changes. Your continued use of the App after such changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
To use the Halo App and its services, you must:
● Be at least 18 years of age;
● Have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement;
● Reside in or access the platform from a jurisdiction where the use of the services is lawful;
● Use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes only (unless you are a registered Counselor).
By registering an account or using the App, you represent and warrant that you meet all of the above eligibility requirements. If you are accessing or using the App on behalf of another person (e.g. a dependent), you confirm that you have the legal authority to do so and accept full responsibility for their use of the services.
We reserve the right to deny or suspend access to any user who does not comply with these Terms or who misuses the platform in any way.
Halo is committed to protecting your privacy and handling your personal data responsibly and in compliance with the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance (Cap. 486) of the laws of Hong Kong.
By using the App, you consent to the collection of personal data, which may include:
● Name, contact details, and identification documents;
● Demographic information;
● Health-related information provided voluntarily for counseling purposes;
● Communication and transaction records on the platform;
● Device and usage data (e.g., IP address, location, app usage patterns).
Your personal data may be used for the following purposes:
● Facilitating session bookings, communication, and payments;
● Matching you with suitable Counselors;
● Maintaining your account and preferences;
● Ensuring the safety, integrity, and functionality of the platform;
● Complying with legal and regulatory obligations.
We will not use your personal data for direct marketing without your explicit consent.
We do not sell your personal data. We may share data only with:
● Counselors you have booked or communicated with;
● Our payment and technical service providers, under confidentiality obligations;
● Legal or regulatory authorities when required by law.
Counselors are independent data users under PDPO and are responsible for handling client information in accordance with professional and legal standards.
We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your data. Personal data is retained only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purpose for which it was collected, or as required by law.
Under the PDPO, you have the right to:
● Access your personal data held by us;
● Request correction of inaccurate data;
● Withdraw your consent for data use, subject to legal and contractual restrictions.
